Our Company
Meet the Team

American Ginseng Pharm Regional Center is an agroforestry enterprise located in the beautiful Catskill Mountains of New York State.

We are currently the largest organic wild-simulated ginseng farm in the world, and have successfully planted hundreds of acres of forested land in Albany, Delaware, and Greene County, New York. We are constantly expanding and are still in the process of leasing and/or purchasing additional forested lands and farm lands that have characteristics that are beneficial in the cultivation of out focus products.

American Ginseng Pharm is dedicated to growing wild-simulated American Ginseng (Panax quinquefolius), Reishi (Lingzhi) mushrooms (Ganoderma lucidum), and several other varieties of medicinal plants and mushrooms. We help conserve exploited wild populations of plants, by fulfilling global demand with our own cultivated varieties. We also help out local communities by providing both permanent and seasonal employment.

Our flagship products, wild-simulated ginseng, reishi (lingzhi), and cordyceps, are the most revered medicinal plants used in traditional medicine for over two thousand years. Ginseng is also known as the “king of herbal medicine,” and in Chinese, reishi(lingzhi) is composed of ling (灵), meaning "spirit, spiritual; soul; miraculous; sacred; divine; mysterious; efficacious; effective",  and zhi (芝) meaning "(traditional) plant of longevity, auspicious plant. Cordyceps is also revered in Chinese medicine for its powerful medicinal effects.

American Ginseng Pharm’s objective is to become the leader of the Ginseng Agricultural and supplement production industry. With our vertically integrated operational model, we can offer direct and strict control of the quality of our agricultural products. This way we can control how our herbal ingredients are farmed and know exactly what is going into the manufacturing of our end product. We stand by our products, which with our strong guarantees of quality and safety as well as transparency in its production will allow us to help people and generate fair margins.

Wild-Simulated Ginseng

What is Wild-Simulated Ginseng?

Ginseng seeds are sown in suitable wild locations and left to grow on their own. The land is not tilled and no fertilizers, herbicides, or fungicides are used.  Our Wild-simulated Ginseng has nearly the same quality and value as wild-harvested plants

Commercial, field-grown Ginseng is cultivated unsustainably and is of inferior quality

American ginseng is listed in Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), an international treaty signed by the United States (CITES Secretariat n.d.).

CITES Appendix II regulates trade of species that may become endangered as a result of commerce. The FWS administers CITES in the United States (50 CFR § 23 United States Fish and Wildlife Service Department of the Interior 2007). Because wild and wild-simulated ginsengs are often indistinguishable, the FWS regulates them both as wild ginseng.

Lingzhi (Reishi Mushroom)

We at American Ginseng Pharm grow medicinal and edible fungi, most notably Lingzhi (Reishi) and Shiitake mushrooms

Our mushrooms are grown on local, sustainably-harvested bolts (logs) and woodchips which are carefully monitored throughout the season to ensure healthy crops

Our wild and mountain-grown lingzhi (Reishi) are of the high quality and deliver the ideal synergistic balance and produce the most powerful healing benefits. Our lingzhi (Reishi) is unique in that its pharmaceutical value is more paramount than its nutritional value.

We carefully process, dry, and package our mushrooms to provide the high-quality products

Wild-Simulated Turkey Tail Mushrooms

At American Ginseng Pharm, we are working to grow quality wild-simulated turkey tail mushrooms or our products.

Turkey tail, known for its shape and colors, has recently gained recognition as a mushroom with restorative properties.

The FDA approved of clinical trials for the use of turkey tail extract in combination with chemotherapy. Furthermore, trials of turkey tail extract used in conjunction with vaccine treatment for women with breast cancer has also been considered.

Echinacea and Other Medicinal Herbs

Other medicinal plants we grow include:

• organic echinacea

• Threatened American goldenseal (Hydrastis canadensis), which we plant alongside our ginseng as a companion plant

• other Chinese medicinal herbs

• We also carefully wild-harvest medicinal plants for our tea blends and supplements.

Products ranging from cultivating cordyceps, deer velvet antler farm, local honey and beeswax to organic baby formula and goat’s milk etc.
